The high quality of aesthetic surgical services in Iran and the low costs of these services compared to developed countries could be a prerequisite for the development of medical tourism in Iran.
According to Medtourpress, tourists are currently visiting Iran from several different countries to undergo plastic surgery.
Dr. Alireza Naeini, subspecialist of plastic surgery also points out the might of Iran in plastic and cosmetic surgeries: “The inexpensive costs of aesthetic surgeries in Iran in comparison to other countries around the world make the attraction of foreign customers possible. The level of execution for these surgeries in Iran is quite high and in this area Iran is more than capable of competing with western countries or other countries around the world.”

According to the latest statistics from the International Association of Aesthetic Surgery (ISAPS) every year, five percent is added to the demand for a variety of aesthetic surgeries all over the world, in which the highest demand is by women and regarding surgical services such breast, eyelid and liposuction surgeries. Cosmetic surgeries for men include operation for, eyelids, nose, liposuction, and hair transplantation.
Dr. Peyman Borumand Otorhinolaryngology expert, fellow in rhinology and aesthetic surgeon, also comments on Iran’s high capability in aesthetic surgery operations: “The knowledge and experience of the science of medicine in Iran is very high. We rank higher than some European states while being on the same level other European countries as well as the United States.
