This year, the international event of European Medical Tourism, organized by the Italian company BookingsMed with the support of Italy’s health and hygiene government sector in the Tuscany region, comprised three sections: exhibition, conference, and specialized workshops.
At the European Medical Tourism Exhibition and Conference, held on the 16th and 17th of November, 2023, noteworthy was the professional and calculated marketing and advertising employed by hospitals, clinics, and other companies active in the global health tourism ecosystem to connect with partners and stakeholders of this market. From maximizing the use of exhibition space to fostering creative environmental advertising and producing eye-catching videos and motion graphics about their areas of activity. Moreover, all these participants were prominently active in the B2B section and were able to conduct significant discussions and negotiations at this international event. It must be stressed that the special focus of the seventh session of the European Health Tourism event was on the role of thermal and mineral waters in the wellness tourism industry. In general, the theme and key topic of the seventh “European Medical Tourism Event” conference speeches were the development and promotion of the therapeutic benefits of thermal and mineral waters, especially in Europe. Italian health authorities, present at the inauguration of this EMT2023 event, stressed in their speeches that the Italian government is serious about planning short-term and long-term therapeutic and wellness strategies through thermal waters. Additionally, the Mayor of Venice, one of the main speakers at the opening ceremony, announced the inauguration of a train line from Venice to the Tuscany region, intended to direct a flow of tourists from Venice towards Italy’s thermal springs regions.
It’s notable that the European Medical Tourism event has been organized for several sessions by the BookingsMed company in Italy, and this year it enjoyed the support and collaboration of significant governmental sectors such as the Italian Ministry of Health. The sixth session of the European Medical Tourism event was held last year near Venice, but this year it took place 170 kilometers away from the city of Rome, in the beautiful region of Tuscany, in a small town called Chianciano Terme. A region known for being one of the hubs of thermal waters in Italy and a destination for tourists traveling to Italy for wellness and hydrotherapy. For the MedTourPress team, which has been immersed in the air of tourism and wellness for the past seven years, attending international events has always been a strategy to follow the most important and latest developments in these industries and to identify opportunities that can be utilized in the domestic business environment of these areas. This year, with the same goal and previous planning, Medtourpress participated in the European Medical Tourism event, and while holding masterclasses and workshops, it has prepared reports and analyzes about this important world event. You will see the first day of this conference.
