Title: The Significance of Mineral Hot Springs in Health Tourism Industry: Highlights from the 7th European Medical Tourism Event
The 7th edition of the European Health Tourism Event focused on the significance of mineral hot springs in the health tourism industry. The overarching theme of the conference was the development and promotion of the therapeutic benefits of mineral hot springs, particularly in Europe. Notably, officials from the Italian Ministry of Health emphasized Italy’s serious consideration of short-term and long-term planning for therapeutic and wellness initiatives through hot springs. Furthermore, the mayor of Venice announced the opening of a new railway line from Venice to the thermal regions of Italy, aimed at redirecting tourism towards the hot spring areas.
One of the strengths of EMT2023 was its exhibition section, where various health tourism companies from around the world showcased their capacities. Notably, the large booth representing the Philippines effectively promoted the country’s brand and attractive destinations, while reputable health tourism companies introduced their capacities within the booth. However, there was a noticeable absence of representatives from MENA, possibly due to the significant booth costs for countries like Iran. Nevertheless, Mena’s abundant potential in the health and wellness sector suggests that participation in such global events could significantly capture market share and introduce the strengths of Iran’s health tourism industry to global stakeholders, thereby attracting investment for the future of mena’s tourism.
It is worth mentioning that the European Health Tourism Event is one of the most significant events in the health tourism and wellness industry worldwide. The 7th edition took place in Tuscany in a small town called Chianciano Terme on November 16 and 17, 2023 – a region known for its hot springs and a popular destination for health and wellness tourists.
