The fourth round of Iranian medical tourism convention, called Medtourtalk, was held last Thursday in the International Conference Hall of the” Payambaran” Hospital.
The event was attended by more than one hundred activists in various fields of tourism, including managers of treatment facilities, managers of hospitals and various clinics, doctors, travel agencies, IPD managers of the country’s leading hospitals and medical and tourism students. They shared a common interest. The convention, in addition to reviewing what has happened to the industry over the past two years, also discussed its future.

In the first part of the 4-hour event, Dr. Sajjadi, CEO of Payambaran Hospital, while welcoming the participants, emphasized that this hospital is ready to cooperate with companies and activists in this industry with the special facilities that it has made ready for entering the field of medical tourism.
The CEO of Payambaran Hospital said: “At this hospital, we are ready to establish healthy cooperation with companies and activists who seek to provide quality medical and residential services to foreign patients through our IPD section, which has recently began operating with more energy and motivation.”
He saw the potential of health tourism for the prosperity of the hospital business as an opportunity that can only be achieved through the win-win cooperation of all actors in this field, including medical centers.
The latest statistics from Medical Tourism
In another part of the event, Reza Jamili, the editor and founder of Medtourpress, who hosted the event, shared the latest Medtourpress statistics from the industry with the audience in a 20-minute presentation.
“Covid has done a lot of damage to different parts of the industry,” Jamili said, listing the key players in Iran’s health tourism ecosystem. “But most of the damage was due to the alienation of investors familiar with the online domain, on the one hand, and the lack of motivation of venture investors to enter the domain on the other.”
Jamili stressed that the health tourism ecosystem should be brought together again, and the fact that the event was held with the same purpose. He called on all activists in this field to help the newcomers to this industry with more power and through networking and transfer of experience, so that Iran’s share of the global market of this valuable industry grows.
Hospitals need to become the focus of health tourism!
In the next part of the first part of the fourth term, Hadi Shajari, co-founder of AriaMedtour and Sitosa, in an analytical presentation, went over all the ways of attracting foreign patients and emphasized that special attention should be paid to the key role of hospitals in this industry.
Emphasizing that hospitals should be more active in attracting patients and marketing, Shajari explained the ways of attracting patients, especially from Arab countries, to medical centers, saying, “The current equation of health tourism should be changed in favor of hospitals.” In this way, there is other approach for hospitals other than to enter the regional market with a brand and attract patients from Arab countries.”
